Passenger experience: onboard video from EHang's debut passenger flight in the UAE

At first glance this image looks like the back of a modern car. Plush interior, large windows, familiar seatbelts and headrests. However, Mohamed Al Dhaheri is actually mid-flight in the EHang EH216-S, an autonomous passenger-carrying electric aircraft. Last week marked the UAE’s first passenger flight for the EH216-S, one of the world’s first production eVTOLs, using 16 electric motors for a 22 mile max range and 81mph max speed.

As we head further into 2024, one thing is clearer than ever: the successful adoption of AAM will rely on the general public getting excited about booking their first flight. The AAM industry is well-aware of the need for the world to catch the vision, so we’ve seen mockup eVTOL cabins, flight simulators, VR experiences, and numerous real flight demonstrations at airshows. But none of these give a flavour for the passenger experience like genuine onboard footage.

Similar footage from early flights can be helpful in building trust not only with the public, but also with insurers.
