New eVTOL aircraft promise an attractive future for our society: accessible urban and regional air travel, life-saving medical support, super-efficient cargo logistics, to name a few. But realising this potential requires a broad network of safe and reliable places for eVTOLs to take off and land. On Jan 19th the UK Civil Aviation Authority opened a pioneering consultation concerning vertiports at existing aerodromes1 2.
Insurers will need to be aware of these changes, helping their clients to manage risk and support safe eVTOL operations. The consultation ends on 15/03/24.
